It has been quite some time since I last posted on JA Computing and what is going on here with regards to development projects. I have NOT decided to stop developing scripts, apps, or any of the other rumors that I have heard. In fact, quite the opposite. I have been scripting harder than ever before on a few new scripts that are getting close to a prime-time beta test. Of course, my all time favorite is the AppleScript library dubbed ASObject. There are LOTS of new features in the new version that I think you will all enjoy. I will also publishing a new roadmap for ASObject so you can see exactly what I am looking to do with this project.
Another project that is brand new to JA Computing but one that I think will stay around for a while is codenamed "Get Lyrics." I know, I know, it is a bad codename but the only one that I could come up with. This project started out simply but has quickly grown larger, as most projects do. Remember the days when PearLyrics ruled the iTunes universe??? Well, that could be about to change...
Recently, I took up a small coding project along with another AppleScripter named Collin Henderson. This particular project, named ASTwitterLibrary is a collection of methods for AppleScript that allow you to integrate your own scripts with Twitter, Twitpic, and YFrog. The number of methods is sure to grow and I have had a lot of fun with this project. You can get it now at MacUpdate and try it out for yourself!
Directly alongside ASObject and ASTwitterLibrary I have been coding a collection of scripts (similar to iPhoto Automations) that will integrate your life in OSX to Twitter like never before! These scripts will be reviewed in an upcoming episode of the iScript Netcast so keep an eye/ear out on the wire for when that will be released.
Yes, there are plenty of other projects that are in the works here at JA Computing but this is all we have time for today. Check back soon for some of the newest and greatest from your favorite programming language in OS X, AppleScript!
Happy New Year!
